Patient & Carer Group
The North of England Cancer Network (NECN) has acknowledged that the participation of patients and carers in the work of a cancer network is essential to ensuring that this network develops a patient-focused approach. Patient and public involvement are requirements of the National Cancer Standards, and were recognised in the Calman Hine proposals and the NHS Cancer Plan as important components of health care provision.
The Patient Involvement and Information Manager for the North of England Cancer Network, has helped to develop a group of patients, carers and those who have an interest in the service, as professionals or as the possible patient of the future, to work across the network. The NECN Patient & Carer Group brings the patient and public perspective to the planning and delivery of services.
You can download their leaflet Your Voice Counts and other documents produced by the Group.
