Who made these and why?

Our region was the first to have a Macmillan Nurse dedicated to helping learning disabled people have a better understanding of what causes cancer and what the treatment options are.
In collaboration with the North of England Cancer Network a series of A4 sheets was created to cover the themes listed below.These were very well received and led to the production of a series of A4 flash cards with each of the images represented individually. In 2004 these resources were commended at the BMA Patient Information awards.

These resources are used extensively with other communities and groups where a visual element is important, for example with groups whose first language is not English.

We have now created a series of Powerpoint slide shows which are also available from the first three links below.
